Originating from the Swedish word for "sky", the Himmeli is a traditional Finnish geometric ornament where they are typically suspended above the dining table during the holiday season. It is believed that the bigger the Himmeli, the greater the harvest of rye in the coming year.
During the holidays, the ceilings in the dining room can be covered with these intricate ornaments. Today, with the Scandinavian decoration boom all over the world, the Himmelis are no longer merely ornaments of Finnish culture and have won the stage in decorations of homes, offices and events - especially weddings - leaving the modern and delicate environment.
The designs presented here are a modern and minimalist interpretation of the traditional Himmeli. They are handcrafted and made 100% copper. They can be placed on any surface, or used as a support of plants and aerial arrangements or even as lamps.
